Karen Kus received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Bowling Green State University.  After working in the child welfare arena, she returned to BGSU and received her MA in College Student Personnel.

Kus came to ECU in 2000 as Director of Orientation after having spent 10 years at Babson College in Wellsley, MA.  She has worked in both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs and transitioned this summer to the Executive Director, Engagement & Impact position in the Office of Expert Services in the College of Business. Kus has served as a COAD instructor for 20 years and you will likely she her at volunteering at many of the University events such as Commencement, Pirate Palooza, and the University Career Fair – any event that allows her to interact with the students, faculty, and staff!

In spring 2023 Kus received the Centennial Award for Excellence in Service and was inducted into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi in spring 2024.

Kus resides in Greenville with her husband Don and dog Sadie.  She has two daughters, both who graduated from ECU, and continue to live in the Greenville area.  She is incredibly fortunate as it allows her to spend time with her daughters, son-in-law, and 4-year-old grandson.
