Mateo Olmo-Ramirez
Mateo Olmo-Ramirez is a second-year student with an intended Exercise Physiology major with a concentration in exercise as medicine on the pre-PT track. Outside of school, Mateo works in the Kinesiology Department as an office assistant, helping professors with tasks that range from making copies to checking data from their various surveys. He also goes to “Let’s Connect” events at different community colleges to reach out to students about the Honors College. Mateois also bilingual, fluent in Spanish, which helps him at the “Let’s Connect” events in communicating with Spanish speaking students and families. He is a member of the Club Tennis team at ECU, who travels to different states to play tournaments and is involved in service activities on campus. In addition, he volunteers at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC here in Greenville by packaging different types of food. He is also studying abroad in the UK during the summer of 2025 through a Sport Science program. After completing his undergraduate degree, he plans on obtaining his DPT and working with athletes and professional sports teams as their physical therapist.
