EC Scholar-Led Women in Computer Science Chapter Supports Gala for STEM Education

The members of Women in Computer Science (WiCS) recently helped plan and host a fundraising gala to raise money towards STEM education in Pitt County, NC. In collaboration with Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and other ECU student organizations in the College of Engineering and Technology, the group raised $3458 in donations during the event.

On April 13th, WiCS will host a one-day interdisciplinary hackathon (Spark) in the new ECU Student Center that brings together students of different fields to build and present a project with a team of peers. Participants have the opportunity to meet potential employers and like-minded peers, gain new skills, and build their resumes.
