STEM – Corps East is a math and science tutoring and enrichment program focused on increasing local youth’s interest and achievement in math and science classes. We are currently seeking 2019 Summer Service Interns to serve as members with one of our community partners: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain, A Time for Science, Aurora Fossil Museum, Inner Banks STEM Center, Love of a Sea Turtle, and River Park North!

What positions are available for the Spring and Summer? Priority placements until April 1, 2019!
STEM-CORPS EAST will accept applications on an on-going basis until April 26th, 2019 with a May – August placement. All positions must be completed by August 31, 2019. There are two types of positions available the spring semester and summer starting now. Keep in mind that training, orientation, and STEM classes as well as direct service counts toward the total amount of time listed below.
- Option 1: Quarter-time serves 10-12 hours per week over the program year (450 total hours), earn a monthly living allowance of $200 and at the end of the service year earn an education award of $1,612.
- Option 2: Minimum-time serves 6-8 hours per week over the program year (300 total hours) and at the end of the service year earn an education award of $1,289.
Students will have the opportunity to serve as service members with one of our community partners:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain
(10+ minimum / quarter time positions available)
- A Time for Science
(8 minimum / quarter time positions available)
- Aurora Fossil Museum
(4 minimum / quarter time positions available)
- Inner Banks STEM Center
(4 minimum / quarter time positions available)
- Love of a Sea Turtle, and River Park North
