Summer 2019 Interpreter Series at Eastern AHEC
Anyone interested in health/medical interpreting is invited to attend the Summer 2019 Interpreter Series hosted by Eastern Area Health Education Center. This program will improve skills for those who provide or wish to provide interpreting services in all health settings. Participants will learn primary roles, ethics, and techniques of professional interpreting, including cultural competence and confidentiality. This series is mainly for Spanish speakers but speakers of other languages are welcome.
There are five events in this series. Participants may attend any combination of dates, but please note: Level 1 must be taken before Level 2. Level 3 is taught in Spanish. Completion of Levels 1 & 2 is highly recommended for Levels 3 & 4. Completion of Levels 1-4 yields 40 hours of training, which meets one of the requirements to take national certification exams.
