Nguyen, rising senior, to be published in Biochemical Journal

Prior to the start of her senior year, EC Scholar Tiffany Nguyen is celebrating her publication in Biochemical Journal, a leading bioscience journal publishing high-impact scientific research papers and reviews on the latest advances and new mechanistic concepts in the fields of biochemistry, cellular biosciences and molecular biology.

The manuscript, “Tissue-Specific Characterization of Mitochondrial Branched-Chain Keto Acid Oxidation Using a Multiplexed Assay Platform,” was a collaboration with Emma J Goldberg, Katherine A Buddo, Kelsey L McLaughlin, Regina F Fernandez, Andrea S Pereyra, Christine E Psaltis, Chien-Te Lin, James T Hagen, Ilya N Boykov, Kymberly M Gowdy, Jessica M Ellis, P. Darrell Neufer, Joseph M McClung, and Kelsey H. Fisher-Wellman.

Tiffany is the President of Women in Computer Science at ECU and the Chair of the ECU chapter of Association for Computing Machinery. She is passionate about the intersection of tech and healthcare, blockchain, computer science education, bringing opportunities in technology to underrepresented communities, and making Spotify playlists for any occasion.
