Department of Family Medicine seeks federal work study students
The Department of Family Medicine seeks three Federal Work Study students to work approximately 10-20 hours per week as Nutrition Assistants.
There are two positions assisting in overseeing and working in the Medical Food Pantry, a joint project with ECU, Vidant, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC-located on Moye Blvd. The Food Pantry serves patients who are food insecure as well as patients of Vidant Hospital and/or ECU Physicians.
The ideal students will be able to manage, recruit, and schedule volunteers to man the pantry from Monday through Friday and volunteer coverage between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The positions will consist of 20 hours per week. The students should be available to work between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The student’s schedule can be flexible.
ECU Family Medicine is also seeking a FWS Nutrition Assistant to work with a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) to prepare for and assist the RDN with weight management, diabetes, and other patient education classes. Ideally the student would schedule hours after 3 pm and make reminder calls to patients for nutrition appointments.
