Apply for the Chancellor's Student Leadership Academy

The Chancellor’s Student Leadership Academy is a premiere program that will be hosting a Fall 2019 cohort. Participants must be full-time students, have completed 21 or more credit hours, and have at least a 2.75 GPA. The Academy is a personal and professional leadership development program designed to help students develop valuable skills that will inspire, empower, and allow them to influence positive change on campus and throughout the community. Students who participate in this program have the opportunity to meet with and learn from some of the most engaging leadership educators from the ECU and Greenville communities.

Dana Shefet, an EC Scholar and Honors College ’21 student, participated last fall and had this to say about the program:

Participating in the Chancellor’s Student Leadership Academy (CSLA) was a wonderful experience I was very fortunate to be a part of. We met weekly and had discussions and programming about who we are as leaders, our personal leadership styles, and how we can make meaningful impacts on our community. We were able to engage in discussions with the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Dean of Students, and many other important figures at East Carolina. Most of all, I was able to meet incredible students reaching all across campus, ranging in age, majors, interests who all came together for a common purpose of leading positive change. These friendships have continued on long past my time in CSLA and I have utilized these connections both professionally and personally. I was so humbled to be nominated for the Margaret Chase Smith Courage Award by my peers for an impactful contribution to my CSLA cohort. I cannot wait to see other Honors students engage in such a meaningful semester-long program and leave better leaders and change makers than they ever imagined!
