It’s time to start applying for scholarship dollars!!!

Most campus based opportunities for existing students will open on November 1 so take a little time over Thanksgiving and/or semester break to get applications filed.  Many opportunities will start closing on January 15 and awards for the 2020-21 academic year will begin disseminating in late February.

What is a scholarship?

A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further his or her education. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award.

What scholarships am I eligible to receive?

Scholarships may be awarded by the Office of University Scholarships and by each of the colleges on campus. There are scholarships for incoming freshmen and transfer students as well as students currently enrolled on campus.

How is a scholarship different from other forms of financial aid?

Unlike other forms of financial aid such as student loans and some grants, scholarship money is not required to be repaid.

How do I apply for financial aid?

Start by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.ed.gov.

Once completed, you’ll work with ECU’s Office of Financial Aid to determine what kind of aid you are eligible to receive at ECU.
