Pirate Navigator Scholarship

The Pirate Navigator (tour guide) position is a scholarship based position for students to earn by providing campus tours and helping with other events the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts during the academic year. Below are the details on the scholarship amount and time commitments for the position.

Scholarship Amount:

  • $500/semester

Time Commitment:

  • 2 tours a week (roughly 4-5 hours a week)
  • 1 Saturday Tour a semester
  • Help facilitate Open House (Fall) & Pirates Aboard (Spring) and other events hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

We are looking to hire about 5-7 new Pirate Navigators for the Spring 2021 semester. We are also looking to diversify our Pirate Navigators as well: males, African America, Hispanic, Asian, etc., transfers, and, non-traditional students. However, I also welcome any other students as well. If you have any students in mind, that are great public speakers, able to make quick connections with others, and have Pirate Pride coursing through their veins, please share this information with them and have them email me directly. I will be setting up meetings from November 30th-December 15th to interview these students in order to provide the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office time to add the scholarship to the students file.

If you are interested in applying, email Assistant Director for Campus Visits, Robert Olewine at olewiner17@ecu.edu.
