2021-2022 Presidential Scholars Position Announcement

The Presidential Scholar position is a one-year full time appointment awarded to three (3) December 2020/May 2021 graduates of a UNC System undergraduate baccalaureate program. This position provides a wide range of professional functions for the UNC System Office that will require candidates to be versatile team players. Candidates should be creative, innovative thinkers who dare ask the question, ‘how can we best serve all constituents of the UNC System?’ This position is ideal for young professionals who are passionate about making equity-minded change in order to better serve their communities through many avenues, including, but not limited to, policy and legislative interventions in higher education. Scholars will work to research and write policy, and contribute regularly to cross-functional teams.

Purpose

The purpose of the UNC Presidential Scholar position is to provide new graduates of the UNC System with the unique opportunity to work on a wide-variety of projects, network with high-profile individuals, and refine professional development skills in preparation for the next step in their careers.

Minimum Requirements:

Presidential Scholars must be a recipient of a December 2020 or May 2021 baccalaureate degree from a constituent institution within the University of North Carolina system.

Compensation

Recipients of this position will earn a wage of $18/hour.
