ECO-Pirates Spring Elections

To all ECO-Pirates,

We are having officer elections for the 2021-2022 school year!

This has been a tough year for all clubs, but I’m glad the ECO-Pirates were able to continue with our mission and have successful club volunteer events! Unfortunately, most of our current officers will be either graduating in the fall or living off-campus next year, including myself. Our member base has been down due to the pandemic, so the normal officer requirements will be waived for this round of elections. I encourage anyone to apply to these open positions! We need committed people to continue the legacy of the club, which has been around since the 1970s!

Elections are very laidback for the club and usually, everyone who applies ends up with a position with no voting necessary. I’ll be sticking around to help everyone into their new roles and fill any gaps until I graduate in December.

Here are the open positions and a brief description of each one:

President

-Manage club ENGAGE, plan club events, head meetings, and collaborate with other club and community leaders

Vice President

-Lead club and run meetings in the absence of the president, lead member recruitment, attend volunteer events

Social Media Coordinator

-Run club social media to recruit new members and inform members of events, connect with other clubs

Treasurer

-Manage finances and spending of the club

Secretary

-Take notes at meetings, plan meeting agendas, and create a club calendar
