JDRF One Walk – April 2nd

The Delta Tau Delta fraternity are hosting a JDRF One Walk on April 2nd to benefit type 1 diabetes research and awareness. The One Walk will take place at the Town Commons (the park between downtown and the Tar River) and the one mile/5k will begin at 10 am. The day will consist of the walk, music, fun activities, food trucks and more.

Matthew Blount, the philanthropy chairman for Delta Tau Delta, shares his reasons for sponsoring this event:

“One of the main reasons I joined Delta Tau Delta was because the national philanthropy is JDRF, and I grew up with my mom being a type 1 diabetic. My mom was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just before she turned 20 years old, while she was a student at East Carolina University. So many others have the same connection I have to this event, and we just want to make it a special day that we all remember.”

Registration for the walk is free, and you can make teams on the website!

JDRF prizes will be handed out randomly to those that donate and JDRF t-shirts designed by Delta Tau Delta will be available for purchase!

If you choose to donate, all of the money counts as a 100% tax write off!!
