Farm to Clinic Volunteer Interest Meeting

Farm to Clinic is hosting a volunteer interest meeting on Sunday, March 27th at 5 PM in the Health Science building, room 1410 on the Health Sciences Campus. Food will be provided.

Farm to Clinic works with rural, under-resourced, uninsured patients to address food insecurity, food waste and related health disparities (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, strokes) in this region and need volunteers to help glean (harvest, collect food directly from the field) as well as to connect (drive) food to partner clinics and/or patients.

This produce is prepared alongside classes and public health education to a population within eastern North Carolina that might be experiencing the effects of a food desert.

The mission of Farm to Clinic is to connect nutritious, local food and resources to patients to promote a healthy lifestyle and optimize their quality of life while reducing food waste.

This would be a great opportunity for people that want to serve within eastern NC in a public health capacity.
