The North Carolina Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), along with the U.S. Geological Survey 104(b) program, is requesting student full proposals for 2022-2023 water resources research and information-transfer projects. Full student proposals are due Oct. 3, 2022, at 5 p.m.

University juniors and seniors planning a teaching career can apply for NASA scholarships and professional training from NC Space Grant. The deadline is Oct. 17 for the 2022-2023 academic year. Selected students receive $3,500 to financially support their endeavors.

The Pre-Service Teacher Education Scholarship nurtures the interests of students enrolled in teacher-education degree programs in STEM fields: science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

NC Space Grant’s annual Team Experience and Competition Awards are now open. Undergraduate, community college and graduate students can propose collaborative team experiences that build toward a future competition. Awarded teams receive grants of up to $5,000 each. All applications are due Oct. 14.

Competitions are open to students in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields and should complement the academic studies of participating members. Selected students engage in hands-on experiential learning opportunities related to one or more of NASA’s Mission Directorates: Aeronautics Research, Human Exploration and Operations, Science, and Space Technology.

North Carolina Sea Grant has launched its second Coastal Resilience Team Competition. The program will provide up to $20,000 for one or more student teams to conduct two-year projects that will lead to more resilient habitats and communities on the North Carolina coastal plain. Each team will include two to four members, including at least one graduate student who will serve as the project lead, and at least one undergraduate.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022. For more information, access the full Request for Proposals.
