Water Scholars Request for Proposals

Spring 2023 Request for Proposals:   

The Water Resources Center (WRC) Water Scholars Committee is pleased to announce the Spring 2023 WRC Student Water Scholars Program Request for Proposals. Awards are expected to range from $500 – $2,000, though there is no limit to what can be requested. The committee anticipates an availability of $15,000 per academic year. This program provides funding to actively enrolled ECU students to engage in research or creative activities that:   

• Help to develop a new community field site,   
• Build data infrastructure,   

• Initiate or strengthen community partnerships,   
• Lead citizen science activities, or   
• Create and share stories about issues in the region  

The Water Scholars Program supports undergraduate and graduate students interested in seeking student-led, faculty-supervised creative, educational, and/or research activities. Each applicant must identify a faculty member who will serve as the project mentor.

  
Important Dates   

• The submission deadline for the request is 3 February 2023 at 11:59 PM.    
• Awards will be announced in late February.
