August

August 19: The Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center officially opens at 9am for the fall semester

September

September 4: Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center Fall 2024 Welcome and Social — 5:30pm in the Ballroom of the Main Campus Student Center

September 11: Coffee House — Weekly discussion group with topics selected and led by students. 6pm in the Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center Conference Room

September 16: Viva — Presented in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Spanish language film explores the dynamic between a father and son in Cuba. 6pm in the Black Box Theater

September 23: Bi and Proud — A panel discussion led by students presented as part of Bisexual Awareness Month. 6pm in the Main Campus Student Center, Room 249.

October 2: Coming Out Stories — 6pm in the Main Campus Student Center, Room 249.

October 11: National Coming Out Day — A celebration on the lawn with giveaways as part of National Coming Out Day. 10am-2pm at the Cupola.

October 14: The Lavender Scare — An exploration of the 1950s federal government employees who were believed to be gay or lesbian and presented as part of LGBTQ History Month. 6pm in the Black Box Theater

October 21: Understanding Asexuality — A presentation with a panel discussion led by students as part of Asexual Awareness Week. 6pm in the Main Campus Student Center, Room 249.

October 26: Every Body — A documentary that explores that experiences of three intersex individuals as part of Intersex Awareness Day. Noon in the Black Box Theater

November 4: Anything’s Possible — Emmy Award-winner Billy Porter directs this Gen Z romance that showcases the joy, tenderness and pain of a new relationship for two young adults. 6pm in the Black Box Theater

November 20: Transgender Day of Remembrance — 5:30pm in the Black Box Theater

December 2: World AIDS Day — Noon in the Main Campus Student Center, Room 249
