May 2025 Study Abroad to Italy with Dr. Hegde
This study abroad program will explore how the education system and lives of individuals, families and communities in Italy are similar and different when compared with those in the U.S. Students will have an opportunity to visit and explore three main Italian regions; Padua, Bologna and Florence. Emphasis will be placed on examining the differing education systems (through schools visits in Bologna and Florence), community services provided (from a health or social work perspective – we will meet and talk to some of these professionals who work within the school system), along with an opportunity to explore new culture/s from a historical, political and welfare perspective within regions visited (field trips and site visits with historical importance will be explored on this trip – E.G. University of Padua, whose notable alumni and faculty include Nicolaus Copernicus and Galileo Galilei, will be visited).
This program is open to all majors.
