Honors College Ambassador Applications Open Until 2/28
The ECU Honors College Ambassadors will serve as ambassadors and leaders in the Honors College by supporting and participating in recruitment initiatives led by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions. This includes recruitment events targeted at prospective students and families, as well as representing the Honors College both across campus and to external constituents in the community and beyond.
Ambassadors also serve as mentors to current honors students by offering advice and encouragement to fellow students and attending Honors College events throughout the year.
As the year comes to an end, we are looking to add to our team of ambassadors for the 2025-2026 academic year. We have limited spots available, so please know it’s a competitive application process. We are looking for well-rounded students who are confident speaking in front of a large group and will represent the Honors College well on campus and beyond. Also, to be a candidate for this position, it is extremely important that you are available to have prospective students attend classes with you and help coordinate their visits.

Applications are due by February 28th at 11:59 p.m. Please note that we may ask applicants to come in for in-person interviews to learn more about you & your interest in the role. We will be sending out official invitations to be an Ambassador by March 28th.
The responsibilities of this position are defined below:
Recruitment Events
- Represent the Honors College at large scale recruitment events on and off campus and virtually to the following: ECU Fall Open House, Honors College Academic Days, Spring Admitted Student Events, and Summer Orientation
- Shadowing: Host prospective students in classes and help coordinate their campus visit
- Meet with visiting prospective students and families
- Serve as a liaison for campus community groups and constituent groups
- Speak on panels at Honors College recruitment events and assist in finding other appropriate students for panels or for hosting students and families
- Attend Honors College Student Council events and encourage participation from other Honors College students
- Act as a mentor for current honors students during registration, orientation and move-in events
Qualifications to apply:
- Be in good academic standing in the Honors College (minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA)
- Be a full-time undergraduate student for a minimum of two semesters or a graduate student
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent leadership skills, and strong interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable with public speaking
- Be able to attend mandatory training and at least 4 large scale recruitment events during the academic year
- Attend all scheduled meetings
