Join us 3/5 to unlock $10,000 for student travel at in-person Pirate Nation Gives event

Hey Honors College students!

Next Wednesday, March 5th, is Pirate Nation Gives, the university’s annual day of giving. Every year, our Honors College giving priorities center around the student experience, including funding for study abroad, seminar experiences, conference and research travel, and more!

This year, we are going to have an in-person event in Mamie on March 5th from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a special challenge — if we have 100 students show up to Mamie Jenkins and give, we will unlock $10,000 for student travel!

If that’s not a good enough incentive to show up, we will have challenges where you could win a variety of prizes and gift cards, live music, food and more! Check out our challenges below:

  • Class-wide competition: Whichever class (entering years 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024) has the most in-person student gifts will win the opportunity to choose the playlist for the Golden Gala! The class in second place will have a random drawing where one in-person giver will switch places with Dean Fraley for a day (and he will have to attend your classes!)
  • First person: The first person to make a gift at the start of the event (11AM) will receive a gift card!
  • 100th person: The lucky person to help us reach our total of 100 students (to unlock the $10,000 will receive a gift card!)
  • Random drawings: There will be two random drawings throughout the day – one around 12:30 and one around 2:30 – for Honors College swag and a purple Arctic personal cooler!
  • Social media giveaway: If you take a picture with our PNG banner on the porch or share an Honors travel experience (study abroad, conference, etc.) on your social media, tag us, and link to the Honors College giving link (https://go.ecu.edu/HonorsPNG) you will be entered into a giveaway for a gift card!

Attention 2025 Graduates!

We will have purple and gold philanthropy cords available for our 2025 graduates if they give $20.25 to one of our Honors College funds!

Other fun things to look out for:

Current Honors College students Kaeleigh Kruger & Alex Fisher will be performing live music from 2:15-2:45 p.m.

Free food throughout the event
