Get Involved in the intergenerational pickleball program this fall!
The ECU Sport and Community Development Lab has two options for students to get involved in the intergenerational pickleball program this fall: participant or volunteer.
Participant:
Option 1: Complete the interest form and join our Sunday pickleball program. Participants who are enrolled in the program will need to complete an online research study and attend 3 of 5 clinics on Sundays in October. Please note the clinics are for those who have played before and consider themselves at the intermediate or advanced level in pickleball. Complete the interest form and then the research survey here.
Option 2: Sign up to play in our Sport & Community Development Lab’s Intergenerational Reading Classic (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced brackets). Play will take place on Reading Day, Tuesday, December 9th. Each doubles pair will be an ECU student or affiliate and someone from the community. You will need a 20-year age gap between you and your partner. No partner—no problem! We will be pair you with someone at a like skill level. Sign up for the double elimination tournament here. ($25 fee include shirt and fun!)
Volunteer:
Option 3: Not ready to play? You can still join the fun. Sign up to volunteer for the Sport & Community Development Lab’s Intergenerational Reading Day Tournament on Reading Day, Tuesday, December 9th. This is a full day (8 am- 3 pm) commitment and you will have the opportunity to work alongside peers, graduate students, and faculty.
