New ECU Class on Applications of AI for Environmental & Societal Good

GEOL 4601/6601: Applications of AI for Environmental & Societal Good will be held on Mondays from 2-5 p.m. (location TBD but will be in person!).

This course will introduce senior undergraduates and graduate students to the principles and practices of artificial intelligence (AI) with a focus on applications of large-language models (LLMs) within environmental science and supporting societal good. The class emphasizes hands-on learning, interdisciplinary integration and ethical reflection. Students will progressively build AI-driven projects and finish with a showcase of functional software applications. There is no traditional programming required in this course.
