Summer 2026 Korea Study Abroad – Apps due Jan 31

Over the course of 14 days, students will embark on an immersive journey through South Korea, beginning in the dynamic capital city of Seoul. The program offers a blend of shared cultural exploration and discipline-specific engagement, providing a multifaceted understanding of Korea’s contemporary arts, media, and cultural landscape.

During the final third of the program, students will travel to Jeju Island, where they will visit arts and media.

Dates: May 16 – May 30, 2026

Cost: $2,970 (doesn’t include international airfare to and from South Korea)

Courses available

Undergraduate students will take one of the following:

  • ART4500: Independent Study [Art and Craft in Korea – A Journey Through 2000 Years of History in Seoul]
  • COMM3063: Special Topics in Communication [A Contemporary Korean Pop Culture in a digital platform context]
  • COMM4040: Media, Culture and Society[A Contemporary Korean Pop Culture in a digital platform context]
  • THEA 3603: South Korea – Performance, Culture and Community in The Land of the Morning Calm

and one of the following for a total of 6 credits:

  • ART 3515: Directed Field Study in Studio Art [Immersion in Korea’s Cultural, Media, & Artistic Landscape]
  • COMM3180: Intercultural Communication [Immersion in Korea’s Cultural, Media, & Artistic Landscape]
  • THEA 2235: Immersion in Korea’s Cultural, Media, & Artistic Landscape
