USDA Summer Research Experience at ECU: Apps due Feb. 15
ECU is hosting a USDA Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates in crop genomics and agricultural biotechnology from May 18 to July 24, 2026.
Students will receive a $5,000 summer stipend, free on-campus housing and parking and additional meal allowance.
Students will:
- Work with faculty and senior mentors on an independent research project
- Learn and use tools of molecular biology, bioinformatics, toxicology, transgenic and advanced CRISPR genome editing
- Present research at EUC campus-wide research symposia
- Attend professional development workshops on scientific communication and planning for graduate school/related professions
To apply, you must be:
- an undergraduate student interested in plant genomics and biotechnology
- a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident enrolled in a college degree program
- undergraduates from community colleges and first-generation college students strongly encouraged
