Brinkley-Lane Scholars Roundtable
The Brinkley-Lane Scholars Roundtable is the student leadership organization for the Brinkley-Lane Scholars Award Program. Its purpose is to assist, promote and engage Brinkley-Lane Scholars and the BLS program, supporting the program’s needs.
Responsibilities include:
- organizing community service events
- establishing social gathering traditions
- leading the Holloman Retreat
- organizing the Scholar Summit
- assisting with the coordination of Selection Sunday
- working to promote both interclass and community relationships
Application Cycle:
Applications opened on Thursday, January 29, 2026 and closed on February 11, 2026. Scholars voted during Town Hall on February 12, 2026 and results will be announced during the week of February 16, 2026.
Honors College Student Council
The Honors College Student Council (HCSC) is a group made up of honors students, FOR honors students. The HCSC was created in 2017 as a representative student body to unite the Honors College cohorts, serve our community, recruit prospective high school students, and act as messengers between student and staff, so that every Honors College student can affect and benefit from the program they are a part of.
The HCSC is made up of four committees with distinct responsibilities, all managed by an Executive Board. There are currently 11 positions on the HCSC:
- Two executive board members: president and vice president
- Four committee chairs: engagement, programming, service and marketing
- Three coordinators: engagement, programming and service
- Two freshman representatives (appointed at the beginning of the fall semester)
Application Cycle:
The executive council positions will be internally voted on during the February 23, 2026 meeting with results shared on February 24, 2026 after all responses are received.
Applications for all chair and coordinator positions will be open from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, 2026. Voting will occur March 23-25 with the announcement of the new council on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Honors College Ambassadors
Honors College Ambassadors participate in recruitment initiatives led by Margaret Turner, director of recruitment and admissions, such as student panels, giving tours, and hosting prospective students. Becoming an ambassador allows honors students to develop public speaking skills, leadership techniques and network opportunities.
Application Cycle:
Applications open Monday, March 30, 2026 and close on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Notification decisions will be sent on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Honors Mentors
The Honors Mentors program matches upperclassmen with the incoming first-year class. Throughout the year, they will build meaningful connections that will hopefully carry through the remainder of their time. They will help with the transition to college, building community, and engaging across campus.
Application Cycle:
Applications open Monday, April 6, 2026 and close Sunday, April 12, 2026. Notifications will be sent Wednesday, April 13, 2026.
Honors Art Makers Program
This year-long paid residency gives Honors College students from all majors the opportunity to make visual artwork and act as the Honors College’s ambassadors to the arts. Through this residency, students from diverse academic backgrounds will set and attain reachable artistic goals, build strong connections with their community, activate a lifelong appreciation for the arts, and develop as creative leaders.
Application Cycle:
Applications will open on March 16 and close on March 30th. The new cohort of Makers will be announced on April 13th.
