Shoe Drive in Mamie Jenkins through August 1
Hi everyone! My name is Emma Kate Davis, and I am a freshman in the Honors College studying on the pre-physical therapy track. I currently work as a rehab aide at Pivot Physical Therapy, and I am organizing a community shoe drive to support local physical therapy clinics and the patients they serve.
Many patients are encouraged to wear supportive tennis shoes during rehab and recovery, but not everyone has access to a proper pair. My goal is to collect new or gently used athletic shoes that clinics can privately provide to patients in need.
This drive will begin after Spring Break and run through August 1.
Drive Details:
• Accepting adult and children’s sizes
• Collection located inside Mamie Jenkins
• Monetary donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase new shoes
• Message me to arrange a time to meet, get additional drop-off locations, or shipping information
This project is very meaningful to me because physical therapy is not just about exercises — it is about restoring confidence, independence, and quality of life. Something as simple as a pair of supportive shoes can improve stability, build confidence, and make a real difference in someone’s recovery journey.
