ECU Public Health Brigades – Panama 2027

Interested in public health, healthcare, international service, or gaining hands-on experience abroad? ECU Public Health Brigades is recruiting students for our May 19–25, 2027 Public Health Brigade to Panama!

During our 2026 brigade, ECU students worked alongside community members and Global Brigades professionals on hands-on public health projects, including helping build bathrooms for a local elementary school. Our group also developed and led an interactive health education session for approximately 92 children, teaching proper handwashing, the contamination chain, and ways to prevent the spread of disease.

The 2027 brigade will give another group of ECU students the opportunity to participate in community-based public health work, experience a new culture, and learn about disease prevention, sanitation, health education, and global health.

No previous experience or specific major is required, and students from all academic backgrounds are welcome. Participants also have the opportunity to earn 1–3 hours of Biology elective credit for the brigade.

Interest Meeting: Wednesday, 9/9, 5:30 pm, @ Main Student Center 253
Brigade Dates: May 19–25, 2027
Estimated Cost: Approximately $2,200 (before fundraising)
