Piratethon meeting

Below is a message from Sneha Amaresh, Honors College 2021.

Hope you are all doing great and enjoying your first month and half almost of the fall semester! My name is Sneha Amaresh and I am one of the presidents of Piratethon, ECU’s Dance Marathon organization. Dance Marathon is an organization under the Children’s Miracle Network that helps raise money for local children’s hospitals, we are super lucky that all the money we raise goes directly to our CMN Hospital- James and Connie Maynard, just down the road from us!
For anyone who is looking for a campus organization to be a part of, Piratethon is looking for interested committee members who are willing to put some time and effort into a great cause, helping sick children at our local children’s hospital. We fundraise year long, and put on small fundraising events until the spring where we have our big main event! There will be dancing, food, games, guest speakers, and the kids from the hospital get to come and talk about their stories. It is an event on campus you definitely don’t want to miss! We will be having opportunities throughout the year to tour the hospital and attend playtime sessions with the children at the hospital and the main event is an opportunity to get volunteer hours as well!
Our organization has several chair positions that need your help! Whether you are interested in photography, videography, reaching out to community partners, dancing and teaching people how to dance, or even if you are an enigmatic person looking to show people a good time on campus, we have a position for you!
Please come to our general body meeting tonight at 6pm in Bate 1005! Learn more about our cause and why we do what we do! Hope to see you all there!
