Environmental Study Abroad experience in Dominican Republic in Summer 2020

The course, Ridges to Reefs: Teaching Human Impact in the Tropics, is focused on human impacts in tropical ecosystems, both positive and negative. It is offered in Summer I 2020.

Prior to the 1-week trip to the Dominican Republic, we will be studying the geography and ecosystems we will explore in the DR as well as investigate sustainability efforts in our region. While in the DR, we will be engaged in a coral reef restoration project, tube down the Yasica River, snorkel in different ecosystems and tour the mangrove forest. We will explore sustainable farming and economic practices, as well. The cost is $4,075 and covers airfare, course credit, all meals, lodging and excursions.
