Study Abroad to Japan in summer 2020!

Dr. Sachiyo Shearman and Dr. Rebecca Dumlao will lead a study abroad to Japan in summer 2020 on “Learning about Communication, Conflict and Family Life.”

The trip will be from May 24, 2020 to June 4, 2020 and will cost $3,275 plus airfare, etc. The deadline for applications is January 30, 2020. Between 3-6 credit hours will be offered on the trip.

A few highlights of the program will be visits to Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Shimane. In Kyoto, students will see the Kiyomizu Temple, the Golden Pavilion, and Arashiyama Area. In Hiroshima, you will visit the Peace Memorial Museum/Park, Hiroshima Castle, Gokoku Shrine, and Itsukushima Shrine. In Shimane, you can mingle with University of Shimane students and see a small coastal city facing the sea of Japan.

You will also be able to take part in service learning, community engagement, discussion forums, and a WWII lecture.
