ECU Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge Information

The Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge is a three-round pitch competition that’s open to any ECU student currently enrolled in fall 2020. This challenge helps Pirates who are seeking to start or expand a business. This challenge allows each team the opportunity to pitch their business and if they mov eon to the next round, can receive help in the different aspects of making that dream a reality. Their business can either be an idea, prototype, pre-revenue, or in business stage.

How to Sign Up

Go on the ECU Miller School of Entrepreneurship website and scroll down to click Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge (https://business.ecu.edu/msoe/pec)

In the middle of the page is Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge Registration

Please fill that out and submit it to Register for the challenge this year

What’s New?

Everyone enters will win cash prizes in the first round

20 teams will advance this year, up from 12 last year

There are 100,000 in cash and prizes

Virtual information sessions coming up on 8/19, 8/26, and 9/8 at 5:30

Pitches will be arranged on social media based on order of sign-up so register soon

Voting for the First Round will be done virtually

Deadline to register is 5pm on Oct. 7, 2020!!

First Round

The first round of the 2020-2021 Pirate Challenge will be held virtually October 12th-18th.

Students will submit a 3-5 minute video pitch for a chance to advance to the semi-finals in January. (Video instructions coming soon)

Twenty teams will advance through popular vote on social media or through judges selection.

Each Team will be given a prize in the First Round.
