Rural Health Symposium - save the date & call for abstracts

Save the dates of February 23-25 for the 2022 Rural Health Symposium, hosted by the Brody School of Medicine and Eastern Area Health Education Center and other partners. This event is planned to be offered both in person and via live webinar.

We are accepting submissions for the Healthy NC 2030 Innovations Session by November 30, 2021.

Healthy NC 2030 health indicators are divided into five sections (based on the drivers of health): Social and Economic Factors, Physical Environment, Health Behaviors, Clinical Care, and Health Outcomes. Rural areas can present challenges in terms of healthcare resources and workforce. Communities have rallied during this unprecedented time to work in innovative ways to address the Healthy NC 2030 health indicators. The 2022 Rural Health Symposium will showcase a session on the innovative projects being carried out in eastern NC. This session will offer a prerecorded synopsis of each selected innovation, followed by a panel Q&A session with the project leaders. Applicants must be available to present during this session on Thursday, February 24, 2022. The deadline is November 30, 2021.
