Call for submissions for June 2022 exhibit at GMoA
The Greenville Museum of Art (GMoA) is hosting a juried group exhibition, Growing Up Queer in the South, guest curated by Parks McAllister. This exhibition will showcase work influenced and inspired by the experiences of growing up queer in the American South.
Call for (Queer) Artists
Growing Up Queer in the South
June 3 – September 24, 2022
The application is open to queer individuals who are 18 years or older, and who have spent part of their lives or can identify with “growing up” in the American South. All media will be considered but works must not have been exhibited at the GMoA previously.
Artists can submit up to five (5) artworks but should clarify if multiple works are part of a series. There is no submission fee for this exhibition.
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE FEBRUARY 27, 2022.
Artists will be notified of their acceptance into the exhibition via email by March 11, 2022.
Selected artworks must be delivered or shipped to the Museum by May 6, 2022. Any artworks that are shipped must come with a pre-paid return label. All work must be completely dry, framed, wired, or otherwise ready to exhibit. After the exhibition, artworks must be picked up by October 15, 2022.
