Full-Time Job at Hope Community Clinic in Charlotte

Hope Community Clinic of East Charlotte is seeking a full-time medical assistant. We are a free clinic serving uninsured and underinsured residents of East Charlotte. Must be proficient in Spanish. This is an excellent gap-year opportunity for anyone interested in health professions school. You will work closely with a family medicine physician and family nurse practitioner. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, independent, can multi-task, and cares about serving the community.

Duties:

Taking medical histories
Rooming patients
Explaining treatment procedures to patients
Preparing patients for examinations
Assisting the physician during examinations
Performing basic laboratory tests
Instructing patients about medication
Transmitting prescription refills are directed
Phlebotomy
Taking electrocardiograms
Answering phone calls from patients

Responsibilities:

This individual will assist the physician and clinical staff with examination and treatment of patients.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED required

BS or BA preferred

CMA/EMT/CNA certifications preferred

Skills and Abilities:

Spanish language skills required (interview will be conducted partially in Spanish)
English fluency
Able to work in Microsoft Office
Able to lift 40 pounds
Able to stand on your feet for extended periods

Job Type: full time

Salary: $15 per hour
