Brinkley-Lane Scholars to host 54 finalists this Selection Sunday
The Brinkley-Lane Scholars Program at East Carolina University will host 54 finalists for Selection Sunday on Feb. 18.
These finalists are the best and brightest students from nearly 1000 applicants around the world. Ten out of 54 finalists are first-generations students. They represent 19 different North Carolina counties. Athletes, musicians, environmental advocates, and published authors are just a few categories in which these finalists belong.
The finalists have shown interest in 22 majors across seven different colleges. Their diverse passions have allowed them to pursue unique activities like founding a luxury bakery, becoming a certified scuba diver, being Habitat for Humanity’s youngest female project lead, and so much more.
During Selection Sunday, these finalists will learn more about what the Brinkley-Lane Scholars program has to offer. In addition to their individual finalist interview, they will be able to see a current scholar showcase and panel discussion.
