Wake Forest Center for Precision Medicine Undergrad Summer Internship Program
Below is a message from Victoria Chan, Honors College junior:
Congratulations on making it to the end of the semester! My name is Victoria Chan and I’m a junior in the Honors College. I wanted to forward everyone some information about an awesome summer internship in case you’re interested in applying.
The Center for Precision Medicine (CPM) at the Wake Forest School of Medicine is offering a 9-week Undergraduate Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on research experience for the summer of 2020. The program dates are June 1 – July 31, 2020. Students will participate in ongoing research projects in the laboratories and research groups of CPM investigators. Projects include studies of multiple human diseases using cutting edge laboratory and computational technologies. Interns receive a $5000 stipend for full-time participation.
Through this internship, I had the opportunity to conduct clinical research in the pediatric nephrology department at Brenner Children’s Hospital. Being able to work with a team of hard-working and passionate individuals, as well as some super awesome kids in clinic, helped solidify my motivations for pursing a career in the healthcare field. If you’re looking for health professional summer internships, definitely consider adding this one to your list! See the below flyer for additional information and contact Dr. Laura Cox at laurcox@wakehealth.edu or myself if you have any questions. The deadline is February 10, 2020.
