Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams received her Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from East Carolina University in Special Education and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She has worked at ECU for over 24 years and currently serves as the Executive Director for the ECU Office for Faculty Excellence. Prior to that role she was an Associate Professor in the Program of Special Education in the College of Education and Executive Director for the ECU STEPP Program. She is also a former special education teacher in the NC public schools. Her research interests include applied research with instructional strategies that influence learning environments and the general college experiences for students with learning and attention differences. Sarah lives in Pitt County with her husband and their dog.  She has two adult children, one who lives in Greenville, and the other who resides in Raleigh, NC.
