Toya S. Jacobs, MPA
Toya is the Manager for Well-Being and Engagement Programs in the Office for Well-Being and Success in the Department of People Operations, Success and Opportunity (POSO) at East Carolina University. Her 24-year higher education career has included leadership roles within the Office for Equity and Diversity, Human Resources, Student Affairs, Institutional Planning, University Unions and Student Experiences, Intercultural Student Affairs, and the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center. As an ECU alumna, Toya holds two ECU degrees: a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in public personnel administration and a Bachelor of Science in child development and family relations. In 2015, Toya was selected as one of ECU Division of Student Affairs Inaugural 40 Under 40 award recipients. Toya is a highly sought after facilitator and moderator. She has served on the Greenville Utilities Commission Board of Commissioners, the State Employees Credit Union Board, and the United Way of Pitt County Board of Directors. She has volunteered extensively with the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, Ronald McDonald House charities, ECU Women’s Roundtable Board of Directors, and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. where she is a ruby and life member. Her numerous honors include the National Pan-Hellenic Council Advisor of the Year Award and Outstanding Faculty Advisor, two Chancellor’s Synergy awards and the NAACP Legacy Award. She participated in the BRIDGES XVI Academic Leadership Program in 2008. Most recently, Toya was invited to join The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. Toya is married to Jamie and has one adult son, Jaylin. Toya is the fur-mom to Langston and Winston, yorkie brothers.
