Lauren Howard
Lauren Howard is the Associate Director of Student Engagement and the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement at East Carolina University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. During her undergraduate studies, Lauren was involved with various student organizations, which fostered her interest in leadership, service, and community engagement. After graduating, she worked as a First-Year Admissions Advisor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Ohio University. In 2012, Lauren earned her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech. Following graduation, she relocated to sunny Southwest Florida and worked at Florida Gulf Coast University.
In her role as a student affairs practitioner, Lauren is particularly interested in access and success initiatives, leadership development, and community engagement. She is a co-lead facilitator with LeaderShape and an active member of the Pitt County Farm and Food Council. Lauren is an avid supporter of her hometown, Cincinnati.
During her free time, she enjoys reading, volunteering, true-crime podcasts, working out, and taking care of her dog, Luna, and tiny human, Jackson.
