Mark Sanders
Mark Sanders is a Professor and the Assistant Director for Public Services at East Carolina University’s Joyner Library. He is responsible for the overall operation of the library’s largest division, comprised of approximately forty-five faculty and paraprofessional staff. It includes facilities, circulation, interlibrary loan, library technology, the Music Library, research and instructional services, and the Teaching Resources Center. Working in a team-based environment, he is responsible for the final management and preparation of budgets, schedules, meeting agendas, assessment reports, goals, evaluations, policies, and other administrative documents. He holds a BA from UNC-Asheville, an MA from Penn State University, an MLS from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a graduate certificate in “Student Affairs in Higher Education” from ECU. His professional interests include learning spaces, Access Services, and budget planning. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, seeing live music (especially jazz, electronic, and Americana), traveling, and visiting cultural institutions such as museums and parks. His favorite book is Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry, and his favorite movie is Pulp Fiction.
